CS2 Gloves: Every Glove Type, Where They Drop & How to Get Them
Gloves are some of the most eye-catching, and most expensive, items in Counter-Strike 2. Because they’re on screen every time you hold a weapon, a good pair makes your whole inventory look better. This guide covers every type of CS2 gloves, where they drop, the odds of getting a pair and the cheapest ways to own one.
How gloves work in CS2
Gloves are a “rare special item”, in the same gold tier as knives. Once equipped, they show up in first-person on every weapon and on your agent model. A few things make gloves different from weapon skins:
- No StatTrak™. Gloves don’t have kill counters, so there’s no StatTrak version.
- Separate loadouts per side. You can equip different gloves for Terrorists and Counter-Terrorists.
- Wear matters a lot. Glove finishes have floats like weapon skins, and worn gloves can look very different from clean ones.
All CS2 glove types
There are eight glove types in the game, each with its own set of finishes:
| Glove type | First appeared |
|---|---|
| Sport Gloves | Glove Case (2016) |
| Driver Gloves | Glove Case (2016) |
| Specialist Gloves | Glove Case (2016) |
| Moto Gloves | Glove Case (2016) |
| Hand Wraps | Glove Case (2016) |
| Bloodhound Gloves | Glove Case (2016) |
| Hydra Gloves | Clutch Case (2018) |
| Broken Fang Gloves | Broken Fang Case (2020) |
Valve added a further batch of new glove finishes in its March 2026 update with the Sealed Dead Hand Terminal, so the total number of finishes keeps growing.
Which cases drop gloves?
Only some cases have gloves in their rare special pool (the rest drop knives). Cases that drop gloves include:
- Glove Case
- Operation Hydra Case
- Clutch Case
- Revolution Case
- Broken Fang Case
- Snakebite Case
- Recoil Case
- Sealed Dead Hand Terminal (2026)
Each of these only drops certain glove types and finishes. Check the case’s contents in game before you open it. Our CS2 cases guide explains how to compare cases.
What are the odds of getting gloves?
Opening a glove case gives a 0.26% chance of a rare special item, roughly 1 in 385 openings. That covers every glove type and finish in the case, so the chance of one particular pair is much smaller. Each opening is independent, so opening more cases doesn’t make the next drop more likely.
How to get CS2 gloves
1. Buy them on the market
The cheapest and most predictable way. You pick exactly the type, finish and wear you want, and pay a known price.
2. Open glove cases
Fun, but expensive on average. Expect to spend far more than the price of a cheap pair before you hit gold.
3. Covert trade up contracts
Since October 2025, five Covert skins can be traded up for a knife or gloves. It’s a gamble too, but a calculated one. See our CS2 trade up guide for the details.
4. Trade for them
Trading skins you no longer use can be the cheapest path of all. Compare the best CS2 trading sites and remember that items you receive are under 7-day trade protection.
How to find the cheapest CS2 gloves
Glove prices move constantly, so check live prices, but these rules of thumb hold:
- Worn is cheaper. Battle-Scarred and Well-Worn gloves cost far less than Factory New or Minimal Wear, and some finishes still look good worn.
- Popularity drives price. The most sought-after finishes command big premiums, while less popular types and finishes often have affordable pairs.
- Newer finishes tend to start cheaper while plenty are still dropping.
- Compare marketplaces. Prices on third-party marketplaces are often lower than on the Steam Market, where fees push prices up.
