If you play CS2 or watch matches, you might have noticed graffitis or memorials displayed on some maps. These often commemorate legendary plays made by professional players during tournaments, becoming iconic symbols that celebrate their extraordinary plays.

Olofmeister Iconic Overpass Defuse Under Fire – ESL One Cologne 2024

In the tense semifinal of ESL One Cologne 2024 between Fnatic and Team Dignitas, the 29th round on Overpass became one for the history books. Fnatic star player, Olof “olofmeister” Kajbjer, pulled off an incredible defuse at the B bombsite while burning from a molotov. With the bomb ticking down and the fire spreading, olofmeister took the risk, staying on the defuse until the last second. Though he died in the flames, his heroic effort secured the round victory for Fnatic.

To commemorate this legendary moment, Valve added a graffiti on the B bombsite wall in Overpass. The artwork features a counter terrorist defusing a bomb while burning in Molotov flames, a tribute to olofmeister unforgettable play.

Olofmeister Overpass Boost – DreamHack Winter 2014

In the quarterfinals of DreamHack Winter 2014, Fnatic faced off against Team LDLC in a match that would become one of the most controversial in counter strike history. With LDLC leading 13-3 on Overpass, Fnatic executed a brilliant but unconventional boost at the CT spawn. This boost allowed Olof “olofmeister” Kajbjer to gain an incredible line of sight over the B bombsite, spotting and eliminating LDLC players pushing short, all while remaining undetected.

Fnatic leveraged this tactical advantage to stage an unbelievable comeback, winning the map 16-13. However, the boost brought immediate controversy due to its exploitative nature, leading to a heated debate within the community. In the end, Fnatic chose to forfeit the map, allowing LDLC to advance in the tournament.

Olofmeister remains the only player in counter strike history to have two graffitis commemorating his legendary plays on the same map. Though the boost was later patched by Valve and is no longer possible, the graffiti on Overpass, featuring a sign that reads “No Climbing,” serves as a lasting tribute to the play that changed the game.

Coldzera Iconic No Scope Jump – MLG Major Columbus 2016

In the 25th round of the MLG Major Columbus 2016 semifinal between Luminosity Gaming and Team Liquid, the score stood at 15-9 in Liquid favor, just one round away from victory. As Team Liquid launched a full rush on Mirage B bombsite, Marcelo “coldzera” David, with an AWP, delivered one of the most iconic plays in counter strike history.

Defending the site alone, coldzera pulled off an unbelievable no scope while jumping, taking down both EliGE and s1mple with a single bullet. He followed it up by eliminating Nitr0 with another no scope, winning the round and keeping Luminosity hopes alive.

Thanks to coldzera, Luminosity earned confidence, winning six consecutive rounds to force overtime. They defeated Team Liquid 19-15, securing their spot in the grand final, where they went on to beat Natus Vincere and claim the Major Championship.

To commemorate this incredible moment, Valve added a graffiti on Mirage B bombsite wall near the van where coldzera made his play. The graffiti features an AWP with four skulls, representing his kills, and wings, symbolizing the incredible no scope jump shots that made counter strike history.

S1mple Legendary AWP No-Scopes on Cache – ESL One Cologne 2016

In the 14th round of the ESL One Cologne 2016 semifinal between Team Liquid and Fnatic, with Team Liquid leading 9-4, Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev delivered one of the most iconic plays in Counter-Strike history. Playing as the last remaining Counter Terrorist on Cache B bombsite, s1mple faced a 1v2 against Fnatic’s dennis and KRIMZ.

As s1mple dropped from heaven, he pulled off an incredible no scope with his AWP, taking down dennis mid air. With no time to recover, he quickly followed up with another no scope, eliminating KRIMZ and securing the round for his team in a breathtaking display of skill and composure.

This clutch is widely regarded as one of the greatest in Major history. Valve added a graffiti on the wall of Cache B bombsite, near heaven, where s1mple made his legendary play. The graffiti contains a counter terrorist with wings, holding an AWP, symbolizing s1mple unbelievable no scope shots that stunned the world.

Fnatic AWP Masterclass on Dust2 – ESL One Cologne 2015

In the overtime of the ESL One Cologne 2015 grand final between Fnatic and Team EnVyUs, with the score at 17-15 on Dust2, Fnatic executed a bold and unforgettable strategy. Needing just one more round to secure the map, they decided to buy four AWPs, positioning four players to watch the middle doors. The gamble paid off as they secured an early kill, turning the round into a 5v4 in their favor and Fnatic went on to win the round and the map.

Although the iconic graffiti that commemorated this play, a depiction of a Terrorist holding four AWPs was removed in a 2017 update to Dust2, the memory of Fnatic AWP masterclass lives on as a legendary moment in counter strike history.

Friberg: The King of Banana on Inferno

During his time with Ninjas in Pyjamas, pro player Adam “friberg” Friberg earned the nickname “The King of Banana” for his dominant performances on Inferno Banana. Friberg consistently outplayed his opponents in this critical area of the map, often single handedly controlling the Banana with his aggressive and precise play, making it nearly impossible for the enemy team to gain ground.

To honor his dominance, Valve added a special sign in Banana on Inferno that read “Via Adamo,” which translates to “Adam Street,” a nod to Friberg’s first name. However, this tribute was removed in a later update to the map.

Dosia 200 IQ Grenade on Inferno

On Inferno pit, a spot often considered safe for players trying to save their weapons even after the bomb has been planted on A site, an iconic play took place during the grand final of PGL Krakow 2017. In the 11th round, with Gambit Esports leading 9-1 against Immortals, Mikhail “Dosia” Stolyarov demonstrated his tactical genius.

With the bomb ticking down on A site, Dosia and his teammate Zeus found themselves up against three remaining Terrorist players from Immortals. As two of them retreated to Pit to save their weapons, Dosia made a brilliant play by throwing a grenade into pit. The grenade damaged both players significantly, leaving them with just enough health to be caught in the subsequent bomb explosion, denying them the chance to save their weapons and severely impacting Immortals economy.

To commemorate this play, Valve added a poster in pit, featuring two hands holding a grenade, accompanied by an Italian phrase meaning “You cannot escape now.” However, this tribute was later removed in an update to the Inferno map.

AGO Blacksite Showmatch – IEM Season XIII World Championship

During a showmatch at the IEM Season XIII World Championship, AGO Esports secured a memorable victory with a standout play by their player, Furlan. In a key moment, Furlan eliminated both SPUNJ and jks from an elevated position on the roof, showcasing his aim and tactical awareness.

To commemorate this moment, Valve added a graffiti featuring the usernames “Furlan” and “GruBy,” immortalizing their contributions to the win. This graffiti stands as a tribute to AGO Esports performance in the showmatch.
